Burning Vessel
Burning Vessel
The vessel burns but doesn’t scream—it welcomes the rain like an old lover who’s never stayed long. You know the feeling, don’t you? The fire in your chest, that relentless heat gnawing at your insides, familiar and unshakable. The rain arrives, a brief sigh of relief, but you’ve learned it’s never a cure. It comes and goes, leaving you standing in the same place, with the fire simmering beneath the surface.
The flames flare up again, persistent, refusing to die no matter how much you try to douse them. Pain, desire, that tangled mess of emotions—nothing gets extinguished. We postpone the inevitable. Some of us hide the fire; others wear it like a badge, letting the world see the flames licking at the edges. It’s part of being human, accepting the chaos inside, and finding peace in that acceptance. We carry the vessel, burning, arms wide open, waiting for the next downpour.
